Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been made Vice President of the Central Regional Council. His tenure of the Vice President will be for the next one year from July 7, 2019. Its information has been released by the Secretariat of the Inter-State Council of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. 
       Significantly, the North, Central, South, Eastern and Western Regional Councils have been constituted under the State Reorganization Act, 1956. At present, the Central Regional Council comprises Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh besides Chhattisgarh. The Union Home Minister is the President of All Regional Council. The Chief Minister of the state included in each Regional Council is made the Vice-President of the Council in rotation. Whose tenure is of one year. At present, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was the Deputy Chairman of the Central Regional Council whose term expired on July 6. Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Bhapuesh Baghel will now be the Vice Chairman of the Central Regional Council.Regional Councils set up a high level advisory forum in the areas of the Council between the states involved in the Council and with the Center to solve the inter-state problems with the balanced socio-economic development of the respective areas.
